The movie Wild, featuring Reese Witherspoon, is based on the personal memoirs of Cheryl Strayed, a woman who conquered the 1,100 mile trek up the Pacific Crest Trail as a way to recover from personal tragedy. While the original opening of the movie is attention grabbing, it lacks a traditional title sequence. I wanted to create an alternative that alludes to the personal struggle portrayed in the movie while also highlighting the rugged terrain Strayed covers throughout her journey. Throughout the movie, the main character re-lives influential moments of her life, especially her drug use, through flashbacks. I wanted to give the viewer a glimpse of the emotional as well as the physical struggle of the upcoming journey by placing very brief flashes of scenes portraying this drug use. I am responsible for all filming as well as post processing and editing. The music is from the Wild soundtrack, a song called "Walk Unafraid" by the group First Aid Kit.
